Tumwater, WA – June 21, 2022 – LinhPhụng Huỳnh joins The Governor’s Interagency Council on Health Disparities (Council) as its new Council Manager. Ms. Huỳnh provides leadership to the Council, working to promote health equity and eliminate health disparities in Washington state
Ms. Huỳnh has a background in policy research and development focused on health equity, human rights, and equity in government. Most recently, she worked at the Washington State Department of Health as a policy advisor where she led policy development and rulemaking projects. Previously, she served as the project manager for the Office of Equity Task Force, leading task force members in creating a pathway to form the new Washington State Office of Equity.
Linh received her advanced degree in Global Policy Studies with a specialization in Global Governance and International Law from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Studies and minor in Human Rights from the University of Washington.
“There's this fresh energy—agencies are building their own equity tools and implementing them. Now there's an executive order to be accountable to the Pro-Equity, Anti-Racism Plan and Playbook,” she said. “I feel like it's Springtime in state government, and it's a beautiful time. I want to help the Council in defining our work, our space, and our role and responsibilities in uplifting initiatives and doing our part.”
LinhPhụng Huỳnh joined the Council as Council Manager in March of 2022. The next Council meeting is scheduled for September 15, 2022.
