Legislative Task Force on Social Equity in Cannabis

State representatives passed E2SHB 2870 during the 2020 legislative session. The bill charged the Governor's Interagency Council on Health Disparities to organize and staff the newly established Task Force on Social Equity in Marijuana. The Task Force's purpose is to make recommendations for creating a social equity program for the issuance and reissuance of existing retail marijuana licenses and to advise the Governor and Legislature on policies to facilitate the development of a marijuana social equity program. The timeline specifies that the Task Force is to have its first meeting by July 1, 2020 and deliver final recommendations by December 1, 2020.
