Council Priority
The Council adopted the implementation of the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS Standards) as a priority. Part of the Council's work is to identify ways to help ensure people have access to culturally and linguistically appropriate health information and services.
Background
The CLAS Standards are guidelines developed by the federal Office of Minority Health to advance health equity, improve quality of services, and work toward the elimination of health disparities. Any organization or agency can implement CLAS Standards to provide responsive services to the diverse population it serves.
Training
The Council partnered with the Washington State Department of Health to develop e-Learning modules and in-person training curriculum. Visit the training web page to begin or learn more.
