Jessie Dean is the Administrator of Tribal Affairs and Analysis at the Washington State Health Care Authority. In this role, he serves as the agency’s liaison to the Tribes and the Indian health care providers in Washington State and as subject matter expert on Medicaid requirements related to American Indian/Alaska Native applicants and enrollees, Indian health care providers, and Tribal governments. Before entering public service, he worked in the private sector as an attorney and as a financial and compliance auditor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, a Master of Accountancy from McCallum Graduate School of Business, a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School, and a Master of Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University. He also holds his license to practice law in Washington State. Jessie’s greatest teachers, however, were his kanaka `oiwi (Native Hawaiian) grandparents and mother who raised him on the island of O`ahu.
