Council member promotes "Reach Out and Read" program

Dr. Diana Lindner, a member of the Governor's Interagency Council on Health Disparities, appeared on KING-TV's "New Day Northwest" telecast Oct. 2 to talk about the "Reach Out and Read Washington State" project, which helps children prepare for kindergarten by working with doctors to prescribe books and to encourage families to read together. She was on the daytime television program with Dr. Jill Sells of "Reach Out and Read."

Dr. Lindner is a pediatrician at Eastgate Public Health Center in Bellevue. Her "Reach Out and Read" work is involved with the Leyendo Juntos Initiative, which emphasizes the importance of early literacy among Spanish-speaking families.
