Advisory Committees

According to RCW 43.20.275 (4) and (5), the Council has the responsibility to:

'"establish advisory committees to assist in plan development for specific issues and shall include members of other state agencies and local communities. The advisory committee shall reflect diversity in race, ethnicity, and gender."

At its September 25, 2008 meeting, the Council selected its top five priorities to be addressed in its work plan. Four advisory committees will be convened from April 2009 through late summer / early fall 2009.

The Council also approved a charter at its September meeting to guide the creation and work of the committees.

The purpose of the advisory committees is to identify policy recommendations for the specific health topics to promote health equity and reduce health disparities. The policy recommendations will go to the Council for its consideration in developing a state policy action plan.

If you would like to provide input to one of the committees, please contact Christy Curwick Hoff at 360.236.4108 or christy.hoff@doh.wa.gov.
