Faaluaina Pritchard

Faaluaina (Lua) Pritchard is
a Commissioner with the Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs.
Formerly, Ms. Pritchard served as the Executive Director of the Korean
Women's Association, an organization which she was a part of since early
1990. She hailed from American Samoa where she worked as a Program
Administrator and a Secondary English Teacher for the American Samoa
Department of Education for twelve years. She was educated by Pepperdine
University in California, University of Hawaii in Oahu, and the
University of Minnesota. She has extensive training in various areas of
social service and non-profit management. She has over 25 years of
experience in grant writing and fundraising and has an exceptional
record of positive results for funding. Faaluaina is also very involved
in the Asian Pacific American community. Since 1996 she has chaired a
47-member and still growing - Pierce County Asian Pacific Island
Coalition - formed statewide in 1996 since Welfare Reform. She is the
Vice President of the Asia Pacific Cultural Center involving 58 Asia
Pacific Island countries, and a Board Member of the National Commission
for Asian Pacific American Community Development based out of Washington
D.C. Faaluaina has extensive background in management, strategic
planning, marketing, grant writing, multiple communities building,
fundraising, nutrition education, teacher training, and secondary
education instruction. She is one of the most dynamic Asian Pacific
Community Leaders who can mobilize thousands of people at a given time.
She is well recognized and respected in the Asian Pacific Island
communities in not only the state of Washington but abroad.
