Diana Anaya-McMaster is
currently the Local Public Health Nurse Liaison for the Department of
Health, Community & Family Health. She holds B.S. in nursing from
Southeast Missouri State University and a Masters in Health Care
Administration.
Diana was formerly at Health and Recovery Services Administration,
Department of Social and Health Services as a clinical nurse advisor.
Some of her work included Medicaid outreach and education to community
groups, SCHIP program manager, ten years on The Washington State
Developmental Disabilities Council, she helped write the original waiver
for Promoting Excellence in End-of-Life Care; consultant to the
Washington State Migrant Education Program and for this was awarded 2000
and 2005 “Health Professional of the Year for work in education and
health of Migrant Children; and Diana was involved with a statewide
stakeholder report: MEDICAL CARE TASK FORCE REPORT: HEALTH ISSUES FOR
INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
Diana is a member of the Association of State & Territorial Nursing
Directors (ASTDN) where she co-chairs the By-Laws and Public Policy
Committees. She works closely with the WSALPHO (WA State Association of
Local Public Health Officials) forum CHLF (Community Health Leadership
Forum) to address areas of public health across the state.
In her spare time, she serves an EMT/Fire Fighter Volunteer in Thurston
County, Fire Protection District #17 (Bald Hills). She is an EMT and CPR
instructor.
